Dollar Plummets Against Yen Amid Market Intervention Confirmation
The US dollar experienced a significant drop against the Japanese yen after both countries confirmed market interventions. The move came as regulators suspected of stepping in to stabilize the markets.
Before last week, the dollar was trading at its highest point in 40 years, reaching above 163 yen. However, following the intervention announcement, the exchange rate dropped sharply, falling below 160 yen.
On Monday morning, after the official confirmation of the intervention, the dollar plummeted by around 1% to 156.34 yen, marking a substantial change in the exchange rate.
