Dollar Plunges as BoJ Signals Intervene: Fed Holds Key Rate Decision
The U.S. Dollar Index fell to its lowest level in over a week, dropping below 99.00 to around 98.90 and down 0.67% on the day.
USD/JPY also declined significantly, plummeting as much as 2.07% to around 155.40 after BoJ signals and intervention concerns led to a rally in the Japanese Yen.
Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller stated that he would support leaving rates unchanged at the September policy meeting if August CPI data shows continued cooling inflation pressures.
