Dollar Rises Against Dong Amid Steady Global Market
The US dollar has strengthened against the Vietnamese dong on Friday morning, according to reports. The greenback was sold at VND26,270 by Vietcombank, representing a 0.08% increase from Thursday's rate.
On the black market, the currency hovered around VND25,990. Meanwhile, the State Bank of Vietnam lowered its reference rate by 0.02% to VND25,561.
Globally, the broader currency market has been relatively steady this week, with support for the dollar coming from higher oil prices and Middle East tensions offsetting benign US jobs and inflation reports that reduced expectations for US interest rate hikes.
