Dollar Sinks Against Peso and Euro as Gold Prices Soar
The US dollar has taken a hit against several major currencies this week, including the Mexican peso. The USD/MXN pair plummeted to levels around 17.15, testing support barriers that have been in place all year. Despite the decline, analysts see a massive support barrier between 17.15 and 17.00, indicating that the dollar may be able to recover.
The gold market has also seen significant movement, breaking out as investors question the Federal Reserve's next move following a missed jobs market target. With continued upward pressure on gold, buyers are taking advantage of dips in the market.
Stock indices have been more resilient, with the Dow Jones 30 and German DAX reaching all-time highs. The Nasdaq 100 has also shown strength, touching the 30,000 level but facing resistance at 30,500. Meanwhile, crude oil prices have been negatively affected by external noise from the Middle East.
Other major currencies, such as the euro, remain quiet and uncertain as investors weigh the impact of lower rates in America against the potential energy shortages in Europe.
