Dollar Slightly Down Against Dong Amid Global Market Stability

The dollar experienced a slight decline against the Vietnamese dong on Thursday morning. According to Vietcombank, the dollar sold for VND26,450, representing a 0.04% decrease. On the black market, the dollar remained steady at VND26,110.

Globally, currency markets were relatively stable with the yen showing little change at 157.71 per dollar after two consecutive days of weakening. The intervention gains achieved on Monday have given way to a slight correction, but the yen remains far from its multi-decade low of approximately 164.

The euro and sterling traded flat at $1.1557 and $1.3469, respectively, while the New Zealand dollar and Australian dollar also remained unchanged at $0.5885 and $0.7056. The dollar index, which tracks the U.S. currency against six major peers, was little changed at 99.65, hovering near a six-week low.
