Dollar Slips Against Dong and Yen Amid Global Turbulence

The US dollar slipped against several currencies on Friday morning, including the Vietnamese dong. According to Vietcombank, the greenback sold at VND26,470, a drop of 0.08% from Thursday's rate.

In contrast, Globally, the US dollar index was a touch higher at 100.12 after the previous session's fall of 0.8%. However, it was heading for a weekly drop of 1.3% and a loss of 1% for the month, Reuters reported.

The yen was last at 160.64 per US dollar on Friday, 0.7% softer after strengthening to as much as 157.8 in the previous session. The won also fell, with its value nearly 1% weaker at 1,437.62 per US dollar on Friday.
