Dollar Slumps as Bitcoin and Ether Rise

The US dollar experienced a decline against its major peers in Asian trading on July 27, 2026. The greenback fell 0.2 percent against the Yen to 163.585 yen, its largest drop since July 10.

Against other currencies, the euro rose 0.3 percent to $1.1403 and the British pound gained 0.2 percent to $1.3352.

The New Zealand dollar was up 0.1 percent at $0.5791 and its Australian counterpart increased by the same magnitude at $0.6996.

The US dollar index, which measures the greenback's strength against a basket of six currencies, remained flat at 101.21 ahead of central bank meetings, including that of the Federal Reserve.

Cryptocurrencies saw gains as well, with Bitcoin up 1 percent to $65,286.74 and Ether climbing 1.7 percent to $1,945.22.
