Dollar Soars Amid Escalating Global Tensions and Trade Disputes
The U.S. dollar continued its upward trend on Friday, reaching near-record highs against several major currencies.
This rally was driven by rising U.S. Treasury yields, which strengthened the dollar and kept it close to a three-week high against the yen at 101.41 in the dollar index.
The latest increase in the dollar came as Brent crude prices climbed back above $100 a barrel due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East following an attack on Saudi oil tankers by Houthi forces.
U.S. President Donald Trump vowed 'severe military punishment' against Iran and its allies, further escalating trade disputes and inflation concerns.
