Dollar Stable Amid Market Wait for US Inflation Data
The US dollar traded relatively flat at the start of the Asian session on Wednesday, unaffected by renewed attacks on shipping in critical Middle Eastern waterways. The currency markets are instead awaiting the release of inflation data later in the global day.
The Japanese yen was steady against the dollar at 159.275 yen, hovering around its weakest levels of the month despite a recent joint intervention by US and Japanese authorities to strengthen the currency. The euro held steady at $1.1542.
