Dollar Strength Caps Gold and Silver Prices Amid Post-Fed Rebound
The U.S. dollar's strength is weighing on gold and silver prices, as both metals struggle to sustain their post-Fed rebound momentum.
Spot gold was trading near $4,057.10 an ounce, down 1.11%, while spot silver was trading near $57.77, down 1.90% on the session.
The Fed's decision to hold rates steady and the latest data showing U.S. real GDP rose at a 1.5% annualized rate in the second quarter has supported the case for a hold, but inflation remains above target, capping gold's upside.
