Dollar Struggles Near Six-Week Low as Yen Falters
The US dollar struggled to find direction on Thursday, hovering near a six-week low. The yen, which had weakened for two straight sessions, was little changed at 157.71 per dollar in early trade.
Despite intervention efforts, the yen remains well off last month's multi-decade low of about 164. It has given back some gains after touching 155.20 per dollar on Monday.
The euro and sterling were also largely unchanged, trading at $1.1557 and $1.3469 respectively. The New Zealand and Australian dollars remained flat as well, last trading at $0.5885 and $0.7056.
