Dollar Surges Against Vietnamese Dong Amid Global Economic Shifts
The US dollar strengthened against the Vietnamese dong on Monday morning.
According to data from Vietcombank, the greenback was sold at VND26,520, representing a near 0.04% increase over the weekend.
In contrast, the black market saw the currency gain 0.07% to around VND26,422.
The State Bank of Vietnam raised its reference rate by 0.04% to VND25,293, in line with global trends where the dollar weakened against major currencies due to a drop in oil prices and boosted investor confidence after the US paused its bombing campaign in Iran over the weekend.
