Dollar Surges Near Two-Week High on Oil Price Hike Expectations
The US dollar has reached near two-week highs on Tuesday, driven by rising oil prices and expectations of a Federal Reserve interest rate hike.
The dollar index, which tracks the greenback against a basket of currencies, stood at 99.55.
The euro and sterling were slightly weaker against the dollar, trading at $1.1538 and $1.3494 respectively.
The yen pulled back from a seven-month high, falling by around 0.2% to $154.72.
