Dollar Surges to 687 Cuban Pesos in Informal Market
The US dollar continues to rise in Cuba's informal exchange market, reaching a new high of 687 Cuban pesos (CUP) on Wednesday. This marks a significant increase from just one week ago, when it was trading at 678 CUP.
Compared to the same time last month, the dollar has risen by 14 pesos, and its value has been steadily climbing over the past few weeks. The euro remains stable, holding steady at 778 CUP.
The informal market is still above the official exchange rate set by the Central Bank of Cuba, which stands at 649 CUP per dollar and 754 CUP per euro for Segment III.
