Dollar Ticks Down Amid Global Market Volatility
The US dollar weakened in late trading on Friday, falling 0.39 percent to 99.539 at 15:00 (1900 GMT) according to the dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers.
The euro rose to 1.1564 dollars from 1.1524 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound was up to 1.3499 dollars from 1.3457 dollars in the previous session.
The US dollar lost ground against other currencies as well, buying 157.55 Japanese yen, lower than 158.33 Japanese yen in the previous session, and decreasing to 0.8076 Swiss francs from 0.8122 Swiss francs.
