Dollar Ticks Down as Euro and Pound Rise

The US dollar weakened in late trading on Tuesday, decreasing by 0.09 percent to 98.915 at 15:00 (1900 GMT) according to the dollar index.

In contrast, the euro and British pound both rose against the greenback, climbing to 1.1674 U.S. dollars from 1.1663 dollars in the previous session, and increasing to 1.3646 dollars from 1.3631 dollars in the previous session respectively.

The US dollar also had mixed results against other major currencies, buying 159.22 Japanese yen, higher than 159.19 Japanese yen of the previous session, but losing to 0.8020 Swiss francs from 0.8026 Swiss francs and decreasing to 1.3830 Canadian dollars from 1.3850 Canadian dollars.
