Dollar Traders Hedge for Big Gains Ahead of Warsh Speech
Currency traders are preparing for further gains on the dollar ahead of a speech from Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh at the Jackson Hole symposium on Friday. The greenback has recouped half of its losses since US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's surprise move last week to support the bond market, which soured the mood toward the currency.
The move by Bessent supported the bond market, but negatively impacted the dollar. Since then, the greenback has rebounded somewhat, regaining half of its losses.
