Dollar Weakened Against Yen After Joint Intervention

The US dollar weakened against the Vietnamese dong on Monday morning as it declined against the yen following joint intervention by the US and Japan.

Vietcombank sold the greenback at VND26,480, a decrease of 0.04% from the weekend's rate.

The State Bank of Vietnam increased its reference rate to VND25,358, an uptick of 0.08%.

Globally, the yen surged against the dollar after the US and Japan confirmed joint yen-buying intervention to support the ailing currency.
