Dollar's Hawkish Reaction Fades Amid Fed Tightening Expectations
The U.S. Dollar Index has shown muted reaction following Fed official Kevin Warsh's hawkish speech at the Jackson Hole Global Central Bank Symposium.
Warsh labeled PCE inflation at 3.7% as 'concerning' and stated that there is no room for flexibility in meeting the 2% target.
The U.S. Treasury has been trying to suppress long-term Treasury yields, which has put pressure on the dollar.
The greenback's strength has also been influenced by market expectations of further monetary tightening by the Federal Reserve.
