DXY Plunges Below 100 as Fed Minutes Loom
The US Dollar Index (DXY) continued its decline last week, falling below 100.00 for the first time amid soft US economic data.
A weak Retail Sales report and a preliminary Michigan Consumer Sentiment survey that fell short of forecasts contributed to the decline.
As a result, bets on a September Federal Reserve rate hike have faded further, putting downward pressure on the Dollar.
This week is quiet for top-tier US data, but Wednesday's FOMC Minutes from the July meeting will take center stage.
