ECB Grants National Bank Access to €50 Billion Liquidity Facility
The European Central Bank (ECB) has granted the National Bank access to an enhanced Eurosystem repo facility, allowing it to tap into up to 50 billion euros in liquidity.
This new arrangement is designed to provide rapid access to foreign exchange liquidity and help the National Bank cope with potential funding shocks and increased demand for euro liquidity.
The ECB's move comes as a significant support measure for strengthening the resilience of the financial system, particularly given the National Bank's high level of foreign exchange reserves.
