ECB Sees Consumer Inflation Expectations Ease Amid Iran War Concerns
The European Central Bank (ECB) has released its latest survey on consumer inflation expectations in the euro area, showing a slight decrease in July. According to the ECB's data, consumers expect prices to rise by 2.9% over the next year, down from 3% in June.
This development comes as a relief for the European Central Bank, which has been monitoring inflation expectations closely due to concerns about price risks arising from the Iran war. The three-year gauge, which is more important for setting monetary policy, fell to 2.7% from 2.8% in June.
