ECB Set To Hike Rates To 2.5% In September
The European Central Bank (ECB) is expected to raise its deposit rate by 25 basis points to 2.5% at its September meeting, according to a Reuters poll of economists.
This move, if confirmed, would mark another step in the ECB’s efforts to curb inflation while balancing risks to economic growth.
A majority of economists polled anticipate a quarter-point hike, bringing the deposit facility rate to its highest level since 2001. The decision is scheduled for September 14, 2025.
