ECB Unveils Euro's First Complete Redesign Since 2002

The European Central Bank (ECB) has unveiled its latest initiative to revamp the euro's banknotes, focusing on European culture and nature. This marks a significant milestone as it is the first complete redesign since the introduction of the euro in 2002.

The new series will feature historical figures such as Maria Skłodowska Curie, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Leonardo da Vinci, showcasing the rich heritage of Europe. The designs also include birds like the kingfisher and white stork, with scenes of nature or public life on the reverse sides.

The ECB aims to enhance security with these new designs, which will undergo public scrutiny until September 21. The new banknotes will circulate alongside current ones and maintain their value.
