ECB's Cipollone Sees Stagflation Risk as Remote Amid Hormuz Crisis

European Central Bank policymaker Piero Cipollone has downplayed the risk of stagflation stemming from the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz. Speaking to Italy's ilsussidiario.net, he stated that while economic stagnation and inflation are possible, they remain a remote possibility for now.

Cipollone noted that no signs currently point to a scenario of stagflation, which would be characterized by stagnant economic growth combined with rising prices. He emphasized the need for continued monitoring of macroeconomic changes in light of the crisis.
