Egypt Caps Cash Limits for Travelers
The Egyptian government has implemented new regulations regarding cash limits for travelers entering and leaving the country.
The rules, published through the official consulate channels, set a maximum amount of foreign currency that passengers can carry at $10,000 or its equivalent in British pounds sterling.
In addition to the foreign currency limit, there is also a restriction on the amount of Egyptian pounds that travelers can bring into or take out of the country, which stands at 5,000 Egyptian pounds (approximately N136,282.54).
The regulations apply in both directions, meaning the same restrictions cover cash being carried into Egypt as well as amounts being taken out of the country on departure.
