The Egyptian pound continued its upward trend on Wednesday, reaching new exchange rates against both the US dollar and euro. According to local banks, the dollar traded within a buying range of EGP 49.77 to EGP 50.40, reflecting the ongoing appreciation of the local currency. At the National Bank of Egypt and Banque Misr, the dollar was quoted at EGP 49.77 for buying and EGP 49.87 for selling.

The currency moves come as international institutions highlight the resilience of Egypt's economy despite regional geopolitical tensions. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) praised Egypt's swift policy response to the economic impact of the conflict in the Middle East, citing exchange-rate flexibility, fuel price adjustments, and fiscal measures to contain public spending.
