Ethereum Tumbles Below $1,900 as Investors Turn Defensive Ahead of US Inflation Data
Ethereum (ETH) is facing a fresh test as traders balance its growing staking participation against a cautious global market. The token has slipped below the psychologically important $1,900 level, with investors reducing risk ahead of the key US inflation data due on Wednesday.
The broader cryptocurrency market has also weakened, with Bitcoin falling below $64,000 and leveraged positions adding to selling pressure. ETH is now trading near $1,874, down around 2.8% over 24 hours, after moving between roughly $1,867 and $1,929.
While Ethereum continues to attract attention due to record staking levels and institutional interest, traders remain focused on whether the token can defend its immediate support and regain the $1,900-$1,930 area. The $1,800 level has emerged as an important downside barrier, while $2,000 serves as a major psychological resistance.
