EUR/EGP Holds Steady Amid Reserve Accumulation and Technical Strength
The Euro-Egyptian Pound (EUR/EGP) exchange rate remains stable around EGP59.6114, buoyed by a modest daily gain and continued short-term strength. According to data from the European Central Bank (ECB), the net foreign currency reserves of the Eurosystem increased by EUR 0.3 billion to reach EUR 350.1 billion for the week ending September 4, 2026.
This central bank reserve accumulation aims to support euro liquidity and stability, influencing market perceptions of the euro's strength against other currencies, including the Egyptian pound. As a result, analysts expect EUR/EGP to remain rangebound between EGP59.3133 and EGP59.9095, with a high probability of an upward move.
The technical indicators suggest mixed signals, with positive momentum but overbought conditions flagged by some indicators. The hourly chart shows the price above the MA-20 and MA-50 levels, while the daily chart shows the price above the MA-200. However, overbought readings are cautioning traders to be prepared for potential volatility.
