EUR/GBP Surges on Crude Price Decline, Bulls Eye Resistance
The EUR/GBP exchange rate has picked up momentum in recent days, reaching a high of 0.8543 after a mild pullback on Friday. The pair is currently trading within a bullish channel from mid-July lows, with bulls eyeing the resistance level at 0.8555.
The Euro's price increase can be attributed to the decline in Oil prices, which have dropped by around 9% since last week's highs. This relief rally has provided support for the Eurozone countries, many of which are net Oil importers.
Meanwhile, investors remain cautious ahead of the Bank of England's (BoE) monetary policy decision this week. While a rate hike is unlikely, the vote split and Governor Bailey's press release will be closely watched to gauge any potential changes in interest rates.
