EUR/HUF Pauses at Resistance Amid Hungary's Cautious Monetary Pivot
Hungary's central bank has made a significant shift in its monetary policy direction by lowering its inflation target from 3% to 2.5%, the highest in the EU. This decision may help stabilize the forint, with market perceptions about future currency moves recalibrating as a result.
The EUR/HUF pair currently trades at Ft363.701, posting a modest daily gain and sitting above its short-term averages. However, it faces resistance from medium- and long-term moving averages, particularly the Ichimoku Kijun at Ft364.606.
Technical indicators show a mixed picture, with MACD signals Strong Sell and ADX also pointing to a Sell, while RSI is at 47.391 and flagged as Sell. However, CCI shows Buy, Stoch RSI and Bull/Bear Power highlight overbought conditions, and Bull/Bear Power indicates buyer dominance despite overall uncertainty.
For the next two to three trading days, EUR/HUF is expected to oscillate within a typical volatility band of Ft361.418 to Ft365.984, with a 36% probability of an upward move suggesting a greater likelihood of downside drift or continued sideways trading near current levels.
