EUR/IDR Falls Amid Broader Selling Pressure Despite Indonesia's Economic Gains
The Euro vs Indonesian Rupiah (EUR/IDR) is trading at IDR 20,348 today, down from yesterday's price. Despite a modest decline in value, the pair remains above its long-term moving average but below its key short- and medium-term averages.
Indonesia's consumer confidence rose in August, according to Bank Indonesia's survey, which may have contributed to greater demand for IDR and a more resilient currency backdrop. The country's foreign exchange reserves also increased to USD 146.5 billion for the same month, covering 5.4 months of imports and indicating improved external stability.
The EUR/IDR continues to face broad selling pressure with bearish technical indicators, suggesting that it is likely to trade within a narrow range between IDR 20,244 and IDR 20,448 over the next 2-3 trading days. A breakdown below IDR 20,244 could expose the pair to further downside.
