EUR/JPY Bounces Amid Central Bank Intervention Chaos
EUR/JPY started the week by falling against the Japanese yen but quickly rebounded. According to Christopher Lewis, a technical analyst at DailyForex, this bounce could be a sign of stabilization following recent central bank interventions.
The Euro has been affected by the Bank of Japan's efforts to stabilize the yen, which is being sold rapidly due to borrowing in Japanese yen. This has created systemic concerns, and the Euro is starting to see some benefits from US weakness.
However, the US dollar may continue to remain high due to interest rates staying at current levels. When the market starts to push back against the Bank of Japan, it could lead to a potential rise in the Euro, but it's unlikely to be as rapid as the US dollar's increase.
Central bank interventions are focused on slowing down trends rather than reversing them. The Europeans may face a serious problem if the Strait of Hormuz remains closed, leading to potential inflationary pressures coming out of the Middle East and affecting the European Union.
