EUR/USD Holds Gains Despite Robust US Jobs Data

The EUR/USD pair is holding onto its gains above 1.1600 despite a stronger-than-expected US August Nonfarm Payrolls report. The US labor market showed a significant increase of 162,000 jobs in August, exceeding expectations of 56,000. The Unemployment Rate held steady at 4.1% in August.

This robust data has boosted rate hike bets at the US Federal Reserve's September meeting, which could lift the US dollar against the Euro. Traders are now pricing in nearly 58.3% odds of a 25 basis points rate increase at the Fed's September meeting, up from about 50.2% before the data.

The European Central Bank (ECB) is also set to make a decision on interest rates this week, with many expecting a quarter-point hike in its deposit rate to 2.50%. This could have significant implications for the Euro and the global economy as a whole.
