EUR/USD Soars Above 1.1400 as Iran Diplomacy Hopes Boost Euro
The EUR/USD pair continues its upward momentum, surpassing the 1.1400 mark for the first time in recent sessions.
This gain is largely attributed to a weakened US Dollar, which has been undermined by renewed optimism over a diplomatic resolution to end the five-month-old US-Iran conflict.
The US paused its bombing campaign against Iranian targets on Friday, and Tehran suspended its retaliatory attacks against Washington's allies in the Middle East. This development has prompted investors to become more optimistic about negotiations between the two nations, further contributing to the decline of the safe-haven dollar.
The easing of tensions also led to a sharp drop in crude oil prices, which eases inflationary concerns and dampens expectations for a US Federal Reserve rate hike. This, in turn, has dragged the USD Index away from its monthly high retested last week.
