Euro Area Annual Inflation Hits 3.3% in August
The euro area's annual inflation rate has risen to 3.3% in August 2026, according to a flash estimate from Eurostat.
This marks an increase from July's rate of 2.9%, indicating a notable uptick in prices across the region.
Breaking down the main components of inflation, energy is expected to have the highest annual rate at 14.3% in August, followed by services at 3.0%, non-energy industrial goods at 1.2%, and food, alcohol & tobacco also at 1.2%.
