Euro Area Annual Inflation Rate Jumps to 2.9%

The euro area annual inflation rate rose to 2.9% in July 2026, according to a flash estimate from Eurostat. This is up from 2.8% in June.

The main components of euro area inflation show that energy had the highest annual rate at 10.0%, followed by services at 3.3%. Food, alcohol & tobacco saw an annual rate of 1.2%, while non-energy industrial goods rose to 0.9%.
