Euro Area Inflation Hits 14-Year High Amid Rising Energy Costs
The euro area annual inflation rate is expected to reach 3.3% in August 2026, according to a flash estimate from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.
This marks an increase from 2.9% in July and is largely driven by rising energy prices, which are expected to have the highest annual rate at 14.3%, up from 10.3% in July.
The services sector also saw a notable increase, with an annual rate of 3.0% compared to 3.3% in July.
