Euro ETF Sees Sharp Outflows as Investors Reassess Currency Risk
Investors have been pulling out of the Euro ETF (FXE) in significant numbers, with $5,348,500 being withdrawn on September 03. This sharp vote of caution marks a shift away from passive euro exposure and towards more tactical positioning.
The FXE has seen its assets under management fall to $364.5 million, with the latest outflow accounting for around 1.47% of the fund's total assets.
Despite this, the EUR-USD pair is currently trading at 1.16124, having appreciated by about 0.78% over the past three months. However, the near-term technical signal still favors buying the euro, suggesting that short-term momentum remains in its favor.
The disconnect between FXE's outflows and the constructive near-term signal on EUR-USD highlights how macro uncertainty and rate expectations can trump chart-based optimism.
