Euro Falls Against CAD as Rising Oil Prices Offset Steady Canadian Inflation
The Euro (EUR) has fallen against the Canadian Dollar (CAD), with EUR/CAD declining to around 1.6060 on Monday, down 0.17% on the day.
This decline is largely due to a sharp rise in Oil prices, which have been driven up by tensions in the Middle East and concerns about global supply.
The Canadian Dollar benefits from its significant importance to Canada's energy sector, contributing to the decline in EUR/CAD.
In August, Canada's Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 3% year-over-year, unchanged from July and in line with market expectations. However, on a monthly basis, CPI declined 0.1%, compared with expectations for a flat reading.
