Euro Flatlines Amid Mixed German Data and US Nonfarm Payrolls Anticipation
The Euro is trading flat against the US Dollar on Friday, following a slight pullback from three-week highs. Investors are cautious ahead of the release of July's Nonfarm Payrolls data, which could have a significant impact on market sentiment.
Data released by Germany's Federal Office of Statistics showed that Industrial Production rose 0.2% in June, slightly lower than May's increase but above market expectations. The Trade Balance surplus narrowed to €15.4 billion from an upwardly revised €19.4 billion surplus in May, exceeding the expected €17.4 billion.
The US Dollar is drawing support from growing doubts about a peace deal in Iran and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, with Iranian Fars news agency reporting that Tehran would consider banning Israeli and US vessels from the waterway. This development heightens interest in Friday's Nonfarm Payrolls report, with analysts at TD Securities warning that job gains may be lower than expected.
