Euro Gains Ground in Cuba's Informal Currency Market Amid Dollar Price Stability
The informal currency market in Cuba has seen fluctuations in exchange rates, particularly for the euro. On Thursday, July 30, trading opened at 10:00 a.m., with the euro showing a slight uptick, while the U.S. dollar remained unchanged compared to the previous day.
The euro's value increased by 1 peso from the previous day, trading at 786 CUP, with buying and selling rates between 780 and 791 CUP. This marks a 12% surge in the past month, outpacing the dollar's increase of 9.3%.
The U.S. dollar, on the other hand, has seen a significant increase over the past month, climbing by 57.5 pesos from 615 CUP to 673 CUP, but this growth is cautious due to potential methodological adjustments and actual market trends.
