Euro Jumps to Six-Month High as US Treasury Yields Plummet
The Euro has risen to its highest level since June as investors reacted to the US Treasury's decision to increase buybacks of longer-dated government debt.
The move is expected to lead to a fall in long-term US Treasury yields, which have already dropped sharply after the announcement. The 30-year Treasury yield fell by around 9 basis points to near 5.20%, down from its high above 5.30% on Tuesday.
The US Dollar Index (DXY) has also fallen, trading near 99 and touching its lowest level since June 1, as the Greenback comes under fresh selling pressure.
