Euro Rebounds from One-Week Low as Traders Await US PPI Report
The Euro rebounded from its one-week low against the US Dollar (USD) as traders looked to the upcoming US Producer Price Index (PPI) report for direction. The EUR/USD pair reversed an intraday slide to the 1.1500 neighborhood, but momentum indicators suggest a lack of strong buying pressure.
The US Dollar has been boosted by oil-driven Federal Reserve hike bets and geopolitical risks, which have weighed on the Euro. However, the European Central Bank (ECB) is expected to raise interest rates by 25 basis points at its September policy meeting, limiting losses for the shared currency.
The focus now shifts to the US macro data, including the PPI report, which will drive the USD. Analysts at HSBC highlight a growing divergence in policy challenges across major central banks, noting that while the ECB is likely to press ahead with further tightening, policymakers elsewhere are confronting more complex trade-offs.
The EUR/USD pair holds above the 200-period Simple Moving Average (SMA) at 1.1451, acting as the key structural floor for spot prices.
