Euro Slumps to Record Low Against Lek Amid Summer Season Influx

The euro has begun August on a negative note, setting a new record for its lowest value against the Albanian lek. According to the Bank of Albania's official exchange rate, one euro is currently being exchanged for an average of 93.3 lekë.

This decline in the euro's value comes as a result of the high flow of foreign currency entering the country during the peak summer season.

The lowest values ever recorded have been reached this Monday, with citizens able to buy one euro at exchange points for 93 lek and sell it for 93.6 lek.

Compared to August last year, the euro has decreased by a significant 4.2% in value.
