The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has released its latest Commitment of Traders data, showing that large currency speculators have increased their net short position in the Euro futures market.

The non-commercial futures contracts of Euro futures, traded by large speculators and hedge funds, totaled a net short position of 42616 contracts as of September 08, 2026. This is an increase from previous weeks, with the addition of 17691 net positions.

While this data does not provide insight into the motivations behind these traders' actions, it suggests that they are betting against the Euro's value increasing in the future.
