Euro Surges as Oil Prices Plummet and Iran Conflict Eases

The Euro has strengthened against the US Dollar as oil prices dropped and diplomatic efforts towards a truce in the Middle East conflict gained momentum.

A halt to the bombing campaign by the United States after 13 nights of strikes on Iranian targets has reduced hostilities and improved overall risk appetite, decreasing demand for the safe-haven Greenback.

The decline in crude oil prices has also eased inflation concerns among investors, leading to softer expectations for additional interest rate hikes by the Federal Reserve.

Markets are cautious ahead of the upcoming FOMC decision on Wednesday, with analysts at TD Securities expecting rates to remain unchanged, citing that 'more evidence is needed to win majority support.'
