The euro has continued its appreciation in Ukraine for the second consecutive day, reaching a new historical maximum on Monday, August 24. The National Bank set an official exchange rate of 52.2492 UAH/€, exceeding the previous record by nearly 12 kopecks.

This rise is linked to the euro's appreciation on the global market, with the euro/dollar pair reaching 1.1711 today, compared to 1.1569 at the end of last week. The Wall Street Journal reports that this could lead the European Central Bank to raise rates next month, with money markets pricing in a 94% probability of such a scenario.

Average buy and sell rates on the cash market stood at 51.84-52.52 UAH/€, while the card rate has already crossed the psychological threshold of 53 UAH. The maximum euro selling price reached 53.06 UAH, set by Raiffeisen Bank.
