Euro Weakens Against Dollar Amid Rising US Yields

The euro weakened against the dollar in New York foreign exchange on August 21st, as the dollar continued to strengthen due to rising U.S. yields.

At 24:00, EUR/USD stood at $1.1673, down roughly $0.0018 from the $1.1691 level seen at 22:00.

The U.S. 10-year Treasury yield climbed to the 4.73% range, leading to dollar buying across the foreign exchange market.

Dollar-yen edged steadily higher, trading at 158.95 yen as of 24:00, up roughly 21 sen from 158.74 yen at 22:00.
