Euro Zone Bond Yields Steady as Oil Prices Stabilize
The euro zone bond yields remained largely unchanged on Thursday as oil prices stabilized and U.S. inflation data lowered expectations for a rate hike from the Federal Reserve in September.
Germany's 10-year yield, which serves as the benchmark for the euro zone, was steady at 3.157%, within its recent range.
The market's focus shifted to Wednesday's U.S. consumer price inflation data, which showed benign underlying price pressures, prompting a reduction in the chances of an interest rate hike from the Fed.
Financial markets had previously priced in a roughly 50% chance of a rate increase at the Fed's September 15-16 policy meeting, but this figure dropped to around 35% after the data release.
